Born in a small farmer family of Halol in Paliatana district of Gujarat, is currently the Minister of State for Ministry of Shipping and Minister of State for Chemical & Fertilizers in Government of India. On academic front, he holds Post Graduate degree in Political Science from Bhavnagar University. The quality of human service in his nature motivated him to take up career in public life actively at a very early age. He was elected as member of Rajya Sabha at the age of 38.
Shri Mandaviya has innate ability of intellectual analysis and well-groomed leadership qualities. He has exhibited impressive qualities of his personality at many crucial junctures during his political career. This became evident in his speech on “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” delivered at the United Nations. He has travelled extensively globally to explore mechanism and policies to help India grow at a rapid pace. He has played pioneering role in implementing various national agenda. He was re-selected as a Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for the Second Term in March 2018.
His unique decision making power and administrative insight have been instrumental in increasing the speed of road construction, decrease in cost of Urea and other fertilizers, establishment of more than 4000 Jan Aushadhi stores for 800 different medicines at affordable rates and reduction in cost of stents for heart and knee implants.
He has been nominated in different capacities in various government delegations to sign MoUs and develop bilateral relations with many nations including China, Israel, Oman, Dubai, Uzbekistan, England, Germany, South American countries, various countries of Africa, New Zealand, Fiji and Australia. He has played significant role in the growth and development of New India with his hard work, organizational skills and intellect.
