In the esteemed presence of Director General of Shipping & Special Secretary to Govt. of India Dr. Malini V. Shankar as the Chief Guest Ganpat University, Ganpat Vidhyanagar had organized its 11th convocation on 19th December, 2017 on the lush green campus of Ganpat Vidhyanagar located on Mehsana-Gozariya Highway. The Patron in Chief, Ganpat University Shri Ganpatbhai Patel, President of Ganpat University Shri Anilbhai Patel, Director General of Ganpat University Prof. (Dr.) Mahendra Sharma, Registrar of Ganpat University Dr. Amitbhai Patel had adored the dais by their gracious presence in the event. The ceremony was attended by a group of people consisting of Board of Governors, Member of Academic Council, trustees, deans of various faculties, Principals and head of the departments, faculty members students, teachers, parents, dignitaries, esteemed guests belonging to different fields the total number of which reaches to more than 5000.
In the 11th convocation of Ganpat University, a total of 2442 awardees had received Undergraduate, Post-graduate and Research Degrees under seven different faculties as engineering and technology, pharmacy, computer application, management studies, science, education and social sciences and humanities. Total 57 students had been awarded gold medal for their scholastic performance in their study among which 24 gold medals were won by girls while boys had won 33 gold medals.
On the occasion of Convocation commenced with a procession of successful candidates being bestowed degrees under various disciplines. Chief Guest of today’s convocation Dr. Malini V. Shankar, Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India along with Patron in chief Ganpat University Shri Ganpatbhai Patel, President of the University Anilbhai Patel, Director General of Ganpat University Prof. (Dr.) Mahendra Sharma, invited dignitaries, trustees, BoG members had joined the procession. The procession had been led by Registrar of Ganpat University Dr. Amitbhai Patel.
In her address to the graduating students Dr. Malini V. Shankar started by stirring some college memories in the hearts of students. Like a wise counselor she urged the students to follow their heart and explore more adventurous paths in life. Citing some examples from day to day life, she emphasized the point of living up to one’s own expectations and how veering away from the traditional career choices may lead to more fruitful and lucrative careers if only you keep working hard. Quoting statistics of the graduates from Harvard University, she pointed out that good relationships keep us happier and healthier so spend more time with happy people and try to avoid negative perceptions. She further added that the one achievement of India against all odds is its vibrant democracy. She concluded telling the youth to make the most of the freedom and diversity the nation has to offer in abundance.
In the convocation address the patron in chief of Ganpat University, Ganpatbhai Patel, revealing of the secret of his success said that he was never afraid of challenges nor did he ever accept any artificial limitations. He emphasized more on values than money. He showed the youth the importance of grabbing opportunities as and when they arrive in this rapidly moving world to create one’s own success story. He advised the youth to guard against negative forces and NAY SAYERS to win in one’s chosen field. He reiterated that there is no substitute to hard work. Pondering over the logo of Ganpat University which incorporates six essential values to human life, he ushered the students to inculcate values for success building. He firmly opined that there is a yawning gap between successful life and meaningful life.
During his presidential welcome address Shri Anilbhai Patel started out with the sagacious words of Plato praising education in determining the future of humans. He said that education is the foundation to transform our dreams into reality and also to fulfill ‘Social Upliftment Through Education’- the motto of Ganpat University. He grew reminiscent about the journey of Ganpat University since its inception. He shed light over some of the towering developments of Ganpat University like Japan India Institute of Manufacturing (JIIM), Bosch center of Excellence, 32nd Inter-University West Zone Youth Festival, National Solar Vehicle Challenge and so on. He further added that Ganpat University has recently introduced Post Graduate Diploma in Dairy Industry Management, Ship in Campus for Marine Engineering and Indoor Stadium at par with Olympic Standards. He concluded with promising words that the university would prosper even better in the days to come.
In his concluding address Director General of Ganpat University Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Sharma thanked all the luminaries on and across the dais who devoted their time to remain present in the event and he also appreciated the inspirational thoughts and advices to the graduating students.
On the occasion of 11th convocation of Ganpat University two compendiums named ‘Sankshipti’ and ‘Prerna Jyot’ had been launched. ‘Sankshipti’ is the research compendium consisting of abstracts of the Ph. D.s and M. Phil.s done by Ganpat University research scholars. ‘Prerna Jyot’ is a compilation of graduating speeches of last ten years.
